For students and teams who decide to work on their own independent project, they will be paired with a TA Mentor to support them along the way. This gives those teams the opportunity to receive feedback on their ideas and project direction.

- Make time for the project – ideally biweekly meetings (but as frequent as they can)
- Develop an open and candid relationship
- Share insights
- Respect confidentiality
- Give open and constructive feedback of the project
- Encourage expansion of student’s skills
- Understand student’s needs and expectations

By default, all projects stemming from CS6440 will be released as open source. You will be notified if there are any special circumstances required by your mentor (eg. a review period prior to open source release).
