What has changed about this term in relation to the Fall 2016 offering of the course? |
There have been a number of things that have changed (over the past few semesters) both student facing and on the backend. The major jump from Fall 2016 (on the OMS side) to now is mostly with the updated lecture material (the healthcare technology field rapidly changes), individual assignments and participation. There are no peer reviews this term (which used to be part of the participation grade). There has been an increased number of individual deliverables including – 8 quizzes and auto-graded activities (both FHIR-based and wildcards), and we now have a few more TAs 🙂 We will still have group projects but will likely increase the minimum number of students per team depending on enrollment numbers, etc. Additionally, we have lectures on the first day of class, we are now using Canvas, and we don’t have to deal with the FHIR Server the same way we did before — FHIR Servers can be spun up independently. For the Fall 2018 term, we also have an additional survey (Third Quarter Course Survey), Check Your Understandings and Stretch Assignments. |
When do we need to sign up for Github Accounts? Do I need to share my userid with the instructors? | We will kick off Github Sign ups during Week 6. You do not need share usernames until then. |
